MARCEL CERDAN APRIL 14TH 1946 FRENCH BOXING PROGRAM VS JOE BRUN
Extremely rare program. Cerdan is featured on the cover and has signed and inscribed (in French) the inside page with his picture. The program itself is in fine condition but is missing pages 5-12 and the original collector has spilled some ink on the front cover. Measures 9 x 5 1/2. Considered to be the greatest French boxer in history he was at that time already an icon in his home country. Early Cerdan signature signed one year before he would win the European Middleweight title and two years before he would become middleweight Champion of the World by beating Tony Zale. He would lose the title to Jake LaMotta in 1949. While returning to the United States for the rematch that same year he was killed when his plane crashed en route. One of Boxing's toughest autographs and extremely rare to find on an early program of which very few are known to exist
